I bought tickets to a music festival this Friday but cannot be attending it. I paid $70 for the ticket and I don’t want to lose that money. I was thinking of heading out to the festival and reselling the tickets for the same value, but I’m worried that this is somehow illegal in Chicago. Does anyone know if I will be breaking any Chicago laws? I am not trying to earn a profit, I just need to get my money back.

I bought tickets to see Jimmy Buffett but I can’t go. Selling to make a profit is scalping and illegal, right? But what if I post them at face value and they sell for a lot? Is that illegal? The concert is in Indiana if that matters. Thanks!
